What You Can Expect When Ordering from Meals on Wheels of Lee’s Summit
As a client, you will receive a hot meal delivered right to your front door every weekday between 11 am and 12:30 pm. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday, including holidays that fall on weekdays. Since our founding, we have served more than 600,000 meals to our Lee’s Summit community.
Your Meals on Wheels delivery member will also take a moment to check in with you. Many of our volunteers and clients have become close friends over the years.
Meal Costs Associated with our Service
Each meal costs $3.75 to provide, and we charge only the base cost of meal ingredients. Typically, clients or their families pay for the meals, but we can offer partial cost subsidies to those who are resource-limited.
Eligibility for MOWLS
Meals on Wheels of Lee’s Summit, MO serves elderly, disabled and isolated individuals. Our clients can be referred to us by hospitals, doctors, churches and social service agencies, as well as families, friends or loved ones.
Meals on Wheels of Lee’s Summit is great for those who are:
Primarily home-bound, or limited mobility.
Unable to independently prepare healthy meals on a regular basis (some Meals on Wheels clients only request a few meals per week).
Recovering from rehabilitation and temporarily need assistance.
Requirements:
Able to accept meals between 11 am and 12:30 each week day.
Reside in Lee’s Summit, Missouri or within the LS-R7 School District (Lee’s Summit, Lake Lotawana, Greenwood, etc)

Our well-balanced and nutritionally complete meals are delivered warm and ready to eat. We know that one size does not fit all, especially when it comes to food. We are sensitive to the varying needs of our clients and our food preparation partner, Lee’s Summit Medical Center, delivers with dietary needs in mind.
