The Need for Donations

Financial support is the most pressing need for our clients. Many pay for their meal deliveries, but we also help subsidize meal costs for our clients with limited resources.

Each meal typically costs less than $4 to provide, and we charge only the base cost of meal ingredients. Your donation can help us ensure that our clients—those who need these meals the most—continue to receive their daily delivery no matter what.

Where Does the Donated Money Go?

Lee’s Summit Meals on Wheels, Inc. is a non-profit organization staffed by one part-time employee, volunteers, and managed by a board of directors. We receive no federal funding for subsidies and depend entirely on financial contributions to assist with subsidies where needed.

Your generous donation will be used to:

  • Subsidize the cost of meal deliveries for resource-insecure clients

  • Help cover the costs of meal ingredients and production

  • Help us purchase disposable delivery containers for meal distribution

  • Operating expenses to keep Meals and Wheels of Lee’s Summit, Missouri running efficiently and smoothly
